Lucky Magazine Holiday 2009 Media Tour
Last week was our lucky week! We were thrilled to hear that Lucky Magazine featured our Societe Ivoire Black Tagua Necklace in their Holiday 2009 Media Tour. Valued at $145 and made of black pearls of tagua shined to create the most lovely golden shimmery necklace imaginable, this necklace is a MUST-see close up. Its elegant beauty lies in its youthful derivation on classic pearls and a texture you will find difficult not to play with while wearing. See attached video in link above for more gift ideas from Lucky.
The Tribal Gals are very excited to hear that our new Regal Ivory Bibb Tierra Necklace made by Artisans of Columbia is a huge hit in Hawaii! Not only is it a must-have holiday 2009 accessory, but it is an affordable gift at $68. Our friends at Walking in Paradise in Waikoloa, Hawaii sent us this picture of a fan proudly wearing this statement necklace. All we can say is Aloha!

Last week, we were lucky enough to approved to participate in The Doubles Club Fall Shopping Boutique. The Doubles Club is a private club located in the Sherry Netherland Hotel that is famous for its delicious lunches, themed dinners, and festive parties. In her spare time, club owner Wendy Carduner also finds time to spice up the lunches with guest speakers, book signings, and shopping boutique days (lucky for us!). Having recovered from our quick trip to L.A., we seized the opportunity to participate alongside other fabulous vendors, and we were so happy we did! Our top-selling items were our one-size-fits-all belts, our famous tagua bracelets, and our long Galapagos multi-color necklaces. We loved talking to old friends and new ones and even spotted Danielle Staub from the Real Housewives of New Jersey shopping! But the highlight of the whole day was being treated to one of Doubles’ famous lunches. Thank you, Wendy, and Doubles members and friends!
It’s not only exotic lands and works that intrigue us. Sometimes we look to real-life female role models for inspiration and, boy, did we find them last week! Before heading out to L.A. at 6am last Thursday, we hit two parties to celebrate the book launches of two very high-profile women: Deborah Norville, anchor of Inside Edition, and Ivanka Trump, daughter of The Donald. First stop was Michael’s Restaurant in midtown Manhattan, where we heard Deborah speak about her experience researching her newest book, The Power of Respect, and watched her fans smile ear-to-ear to as they received copies signed by Deborah herself. We think this book would do a lot of people good from school to the office, from a friendship to a relationship, from home to the real world, not to mention us! It reminds us to continue to treat our artisans with the utmost admiration and their handmade jewerly with genuine care. Seems that Ivanka Trump is on the same page too- no pun intended! After Deborah’s party, we headed over to Trump Tower to celebrate the launch of Ivanka’s first book, The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life. Whether as Vice President of Development and Acquisitions and co-Founder of The Trump Hotel Collection, an international model, designer of her successful jewelry collection, soon-to-be bride, and now author, Ivanka knows what it takes to play a winning hand. Is there anything these women can’t do? Great inspiration for us Tribal Gals.
This past weekend, Tribal Societe had a great photo shoot. Much to our dismay, it was lightly raining, but the shoot turned out to be perfect, thanks to various people. First, we hired a model we just adore. Her name is Lauren Young, and she is with Code Model Management. Lauren is young, fresh, and enthusiastic. She has beautiful long hair and exotic eyes, which she attributes to her Native American lineage. Trust us, you will fall in love with her as fast as we did! Second, famed photographer Chani Todd shot all day without the help of her assistant and even used her expertise to help us style. Chani has photographed for major luxury companies, including The Four Seasons, Jacadi, Neiman Marcus, and The Ritz Carlton. If you need a photographer who refuses to sacrifice quality for the sake of time, this is your girl! Chani is serious, approcahable, and understanding. Finally, Liz Walker, Director of PR at Tibi, was kind enough to lend us some of Tibi’s hottest fall outfits for our model to wear during the shoot. As soon as we post the pictures from the shoot, you will see that Tribal Societe jewelry can be worn with a spectrum of clothing from a basic white collared shirt to a black strapless cocktail dress and everything in between! Not only did the Tibi clothes provide the perfect backdrop for our jewelry, but they brightened up our shoot with fabulous colors. And to top off the whole day, we uncorked a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne just in time for the sun to peek out. Now that’s a wrap!

Performing the Traditional Brasilian Capoeira Dance

Tribal Gals with Brazilian Musician
Last night’s “Brasilian Beats, Beads, and Aperitifs” fundraiser was a huge success! Over 100 guests enjoyed the delicious Cabana Cachaca cocktails and festive South American art provided by Kipton ART while shopping Tribal Societé’s fabulous accessories. Highlights of the evening included a professional samba dancer in full Brazilian costume followed by a group of Brazilian capoeira dancers performing to the beats of tamberines. As you can see, our guests loved having their pictures taken with these incredible artists and were more than happy to jump into the congo line! Even more exciting was being able to contribute to a worthy cause as a portion of the evening’s proceeds was donated to the Global Fund for Women.
