Our recent introduction to the Fashionistas of America has allowed us to experience a little bit of beauty, right here at home. Last Thursday Tribal Societe was featured in Daily Candy Everywhere and the exposure has been profound. We have literally been bamboozled since Thursday with emails and requests for our updates from people across the US… Louisiana and Texas, California and Massachusetts People writing in to us at http://www.blogger.com/tribalgals@tribalsociete.com telling us about groups they work with in Tanzania and Kenya, and kind comments galore. All of which we love to receive, so keep sending!

Of course, aside from notes in, orders have PILED in…so Tribal Gal 2 and I spent most of this afternoon catching up and packing orders (yes, packing orders.. we hope to employ start-up attention to detail for however long we can) and here is a story I want to share. Once you place an order on Tribal Societe, there is a comment box that allows you to enter a message with your order. It is meant for special instructions, or notes on preferences, but we stumbled on one that said “a special gift for my daughter ”- just a statement, not a request in anyway… The item purchased was a catcher sueno ( a petite dream catcher bracelet) and this particular Mom just wanted someone to know that she was thinking of her daughter; for all she knew, the note would end up the hands of a stockroom clerk that did not even look at it, but instead, it ended up in my hands. I read the note and the sentiment felt unfinished, so I called this customer to ask if she wanted to include a note for her daughter (not something we formally provide, but really something we just wanted to do) and here is what this gentle-hearted Mom wanted her note to say…. “May this bracelet help you know that I am wishing for you that all your dreams come true”. This message has lingered in my head since I transcribed it… we hope that all the daughters of the world that have Mom’s like Peggy let them know how truly special they are. Not just on a hallmark holiday, but when you think they need to hear it most – gratitude and affection are sentiments that never go out of style! To Moms like Peggy who always have the dreams of their daughters close to their heart, a special dedication, and to daughters like Laura, with a Mom like Peggy behind you, I do not doubt for a second that you can not achieve all that you dream.
