Rising Female Star Entrepreneurs

Her Campus is a website launched in September 2009 by three Harvard female students (Stephanie Kaplan ‘10, Windso Hanger, 10, and Annie Wang ‘11).  It provides national and local content products by teams of student journalists across the country resulting in various branches run by the local student publication through the link within the Her Campus website.  Branches are set up through an application process that involves writing samples and proposals on how to publicize Her Campus.  Once accepted, the new college page is added as a link to the Her Campus website, allowing the branch to upload content. 

Last July, Inc. magazine listed the three Harvard students among its “30 Under 30 Young Entrepreneurs in the World”.  The website now has a base of more than 100,000 daily readers, a team of more than 1,000 students with branches at more than 100 colleges, and has established content partnerships with well-renowned publications, including Seventeen and the Huffington Post.  It also boasts marketing partnerships with fashion companies, such as Juicy Couture and Rent the Runway. 

 Going forward, these three stellar women envision their website as “the number two stop after Facebook for all college women when procrastinating” and as the “go-to source for companies working with female undergraduates.”  We wish them luck!
